In 2023 Steel Coast Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (SCBJJ) opened inside the Wolfpack Athletics facility. An affiliate of the famed Surfight Team, SCBJJ teaches classes for Kids and Adults from the beginner's fundamentals all the way up to competition level classes focused on the largest tournaments in the world. My name is Dan Carlson and I am the owner of Wolfpack Athletics and Steel Coast Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Joel Tudor or the famed Surfight Team. I am passionate about teaching new practitioners the art and sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
My grappling journey began in 1995 when I began Wrestling at Stone Valley Middle School and has continued throughout my adult life as a active Jiu Jitsu Competitor, Coach and Gym Owner. I have the philosophy that you have to be consistent to be good at a sport, that you have to enjoy practicing the sport in order to be consistent, and that you have to be constantly improving in order to have fun, with this philosophy we strive to keep Steel Coast Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Wolfpack Athletics as a facility that promotes competative training and a healthy community of active members.

My name is Roger Mattox and I am a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach and Competitor at SCBJJ. I am a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Dan Carlson (SCBJJ) and Joel Tudor (Surfight). I have a passion for competition and guiding new competitors in their journey through the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, game planning for compeition, and Coaching.
I am an active Black Belt level competitor in the IBJJF and American Grappling Federation and I am a regular Referee on the American Grappling Federation Circuit.

My name is Hal Sands and I am a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach. I have a passion for helping people achieve their fitness goals and working with people of all ages and fitness levels. I believe in creating personalized workout and nutrition plans tailored to each client's needs and designed for long-term success. My approach to fitness focuses on both the physical and mental health aspects of life.
Several years ago I was struggling with yo-yo dieting, binge eating, stress eating, and addicted to sugar to the point where I was borderline diabetic. I had a wake up call when my son was born, and after hitting the gym, cleaning up my diet, and developing positive habits I have successfully lost and kept off 50+ lbs!
